That Ing Hang is a significant Buddhist stupa believed to date back to the 16th century, constructed during the reign of King Saysettha of the Kingdom of Lan Xang. It is said to contain a relic of the Buddha's spine, which was brought to Laos by a monk from Sri Lanka.

The stupa has a distinctive shape, with a narrow base and a broad, bell-shaped dome that is covered in gold leaf. The dome is surrounded by a circular walkway that allows visitors to circumambulate the stupa in a clockwise direction, as is customary in Buddhist tradition.

The site also includes several smaller shrines and temples, as well as a large meditation hall and a Buddhist school. During festivals and special occasions, the temple complex comes alive with music, chanting, and colorful decorations.
